Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere and Mangere Bridge saw a whopping 46 properties go under the hammer at their auction event The Day 6.0 yesterday.

With a clearance rate of 65 per cent, the total value of properties sold at The Day equated to $24,901,500.

Ray White New Zealand auctioneers Sam Steele and Ben East took turns calling the auctions, which saw an average of 5.2 registered bidders per property.

The Day recorded some incredible results for buyers and sellers, with the top sale of the day going to Ray White Manukau agent Charlie Brothers who sold 186 Portage Road, Papatoetoe under the hammer for $1.27 million with 12 registered bidders.

The top result for number of registered bidders went to Ray White Mangere agents Pat Lapalapa and Arvic Gonzalez who recorded 21 registered bidders at their 40 Burbank Avenue, Manurewa  auction. More than 85 bids later the property sold under the hammer for $738,000.

With a total of 239 registered bidders in the room, and 965 bids placed at The Day, Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere and Mangere Bridge co-owner Tom Rawson said the energy in the room was electric.

“There was consistently standing room only throughout the nine hour marathon,” Mr Rawson said

“First home buyers cheered with joy, securing their place on the property ladder.

“With buyers online from China, the Philippines and Australia all lunging for the keys, it appears that our part of the world is in hot demand.”

Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere and Mangere Bridge co-owner Adam Thomson said there was an air of positivity in the market.

“It’s reassuring to see a significant shift in buyer confidence within our auction rooms following the recent reduction in rates and further predictions that these will continue to drop,” Mr Thomson said.

“We’re already seeing property values beginning to rise and it’s evident that we’ve seen the bottom of the market.

“Developers and investors are often the first to re-enter the market, and we’ve seen a growing number of properties with 10-20 registered bidders – not just yesterday, but consistently over the past few weeks.”
