From the beginning the ‘team’ of George Erdos, Howard Sidnam and Sharon Lee of George&Co, operating out of Ray White Parnell gave us an overall view of the market. We, of course, had a sum in mind which probably wasn’t realistic. Their marketing strategy for the auction was effective, and the open homes were well attended. This, apparently, was unusual at the beginning of June 2022. We immediately had offers, which we refused, as we were still under the illusion that our little house was something exceptional. This illusion came down a bit when we had the property valued. The things we thought were important, like great quality, didn’t stack up against location and size of section. We were quite shocked at the bank valuation which had descended approximately $280,000 from our original mortgage application valuation. On the day of the auction 20 July 2022 the house sold for $150,000.00 over the Auckland rates CV that had only currently been increased. A very good price in the market at that time. Throughout this whole process, George, Howard and Sharon worked the property with enthusiasm and were constantly in contact and looked after us with exceptional zeal.
