Ray White Kemeys Brothers founder Rupert Kemeys coached the Wellington Olympic football team to win the NZFA National Championship, the club’s first championship win.

The team played the grand final match at Mt Smart Stadium on November 26.

Rupert developed his passion for football at just six years old, and has been head coach of Wellington Olympic for the past two years.

“So much hard work went in to win the title,” Rupert said.

“It’s an 11 month season in the national league, so it was an amazing feeling to lift the cup and see how proud the players and the supporters of the club were.

“I’m super proud of everyone involved to be crowned the best team in New Zealand.”

Rupert has now retired as coach, going out with a bang.

“What a way to sign off my last game as head coach, taking the national league trophy back to Wakefield Park,” he said.

“I want to say thank you to all the players, coaching staff, and supporters who made the journey so special from start to finish.”
