Ray White New Zealand formalised its Next Leaders program at the start of 2023 based on the company’s strategic direction, which is to empower the next generation of leaders within Ray White. On that basis, the Next Leaders program was developed to empower and give the next leaders within Ray White confidence to express their future ambitions.

In Auckland, session 12 was recently facilitated by Ray White New Zealand executive chairman Carey Smith, which embodied the learnings over the last 12 months. Part of the body of work the Next Leaders program encompasses includes a strategic business plan written by each of the next leaders that covers important areas of business modelling and gives an understanding of how to successfully plan and navigate business operations, ethics and values.

Following the session, the group got together and joined for a graduation lunch on the Auckland waterfront. Joining together to celebrate ambition and the completion of the course, has signed off what has been an important 12 months, not only for those attending the program but also for Ray White New Zealand.

Ray White Papanui head of operations Cara Mooney said the Next Leader’s program was an extremely valuable and unique platform to enhance and broaden her perspective and knowledge on aspects of the industry.

“The Next Leader’s program gave extremely valuable insights into leadership through the facilitators and external guest presenters,” Ms Mooney said.

Stephanie Jones, part of the ownership team at Ray White Te Anau, said the program was amazing.

“Being able to do the course in a hybrid way is so helpful to those in regional areas,” she said.

“I was able to connect with the program easily and also attended several of the face-to-face opportunities, which allowed me to grow my network and have strong relationships with Ray White members who are on a similar ambition trajectory.”

Mr Smith said 41 members graduated from the Ray White Next Leaders program.

“It has given these leaders empowerment across the Ray White group to understand the capacity from a business owner’s point of view and to give insight into the five key pillars of leadership: market share, profitability,  recruitment and premises,” he said.

“The sessions described building a business of attraction through leadership, being generous through your values and how you can create a point of difference within your own agency leadership.”

In 2023, Ray White welcomed 14 new business owners as part of the group’s continued growth.

Ray White New Zealand chief executive Daniel Coulson said that the Next Leaders program was part of the New Zealand strategy to prepare the organisation for the next generation.

“The program stands out as one of the very best in the industry and equips those looking at their next stage within the real estate industry to be prepared and successfully run a real estate agency with the Ray White group. We are very proud of our Next Leader’s program,” he said.

Ray White New Zealand commenced the second intake of the Next Leaders program in late February 2024. Currently, 55 are registered for the program. and we invite further interest in the limited available spaces.  More details on the program can be found at nextleaders.co.nz including a short video on those who attended the program at Ray White 2023 Next Leaders.
