Oakura Bay is located at the entrance to the Whangaruru Harbour - a sheltered deep water bay with easy access to the Pacific Ocean, Bay of Islands and Poor Knights. It has a local store with petrol pumps, there's a takeaway cafe, a local community hall and good community spirit. Located just 49 km north of Whangarei and 213 km from Auckland.
