Mark Thornton

Mark Thornton, licensed real estate salesperson joined Ray White Epsom after an extensive career in the corporate sector. A long-term Remuera resident with significant connections to his community, he focusses on serving the real estate needs of residential homeowners and buyers in all the inner suburbs flanking the central city with a particular interest in Remuera, Epsom and Parnell. 

Mark has been involved in finance for over 30 years, commencing his employment with the BNZ where he rose to a managerial role in the corporate and commercial area, and then moving to a managerial role with ASB in their commercial banking division. He became a founding shareholder and director of a property finance company in 2000 which was listed on the NZX in 2004. Mark was formerly Chief Executive Officer of a listed finance company, overseeing the business operations of its lending and derivatives arms, before joining Ray White in 2021. 

With his background in property-based lending and financing small scale projects to large multimillion dollar property developments, Mark is well-placed to successfully cater to the needs of clients selling and buying a home. Analytical and driven, he thinks outside the square, is unflinching in any negotiation situation and stays the course even when things seem impossible to achieve. Mark understands better than most how to make a deal work and he’s well-known for his determination to push through for a successful result. With an excellent buyer and property developer network and a substantial depth of local knowledge, Mark is able to turn to his professional connections to assist his clients in the marketing and conveyancing of their property. 

A keen tennis player and golfer, when Mark’s not on courses, courts or conducting open homes on weekends, he’s often spotted ferrying his twins to their sporting commitments in and around the city.
