Great advice and focus on making a sale. Barry and Karen were always friendly and worked with us advising the things we could do to help to make a sale. Their suggestions for a bit of work in one of the bathrooms, to flower pots at the front door helped put a positive spin on these things. From the time the property hit the market we were kept up to date, and given the potential buyers opinions, good or bad, so we knew how the property was being accepted. When it came to looking at the offers it was great to have their experience showing us the pros and cons, but they never tried to push us one way or the other. Great service, great knowledge and encouragement to make the decisions we were comfortable with.

Karen was very efficient in getting my late parents house to market. She was professional and ethical dealing with an elderly and frail vendor. She organised stagers, cleaners, gardeners and a repair person at short notice. She organised the open homes and had heaps of potential purchasers lined up. When the auction was temporarily delayed through the untimely death of the vendor, Karen worked with the executor to get the sale going as soon as possible, while she also kept the potential purchasers warm and informed. She used the experience of the auctioneer to help set a strategy to get the best price. She had a full room at the auction, and got us a good price in a falling market. Karen was attentive and communicative - 5 stars.

We were all set to sign up with an agent from a 1% company when a friend recommended Karen Ellis. At first we dismissed the recommendation as the agent we were planning on listing with had the listing for our new home that we were trying to purchase. Like many, we also had a set price in mind that we needed to walk away from the sale of our home. We had decided any agents commission would need to be on top of that. We had the mindset “the higher commission the less we would get.” We couldn’t see it selling at a price that would meet both our needs at the standard commission structure either. However, I promised my friend I would at least speak with Karen, so we did. We could see why our friends had recommended her. We were instantly comfortable with her and able to be up front about why we were considering the 1% agent. Regardless of this, Karen was very informative, helpful and not pushy in anyway. The thing we also really respected was that she didn’t make any false promises about the value of our home. It would have been very easy for her to give us an unrealistic price expectation to get us to sign up right then and there. We realised very quickly the issue with the 1% structure - there was a lack of communication, efficiency and time management in general. We could clearly tell we were very much just a number and there were a few times when we were spoken to completely inappropriately also. This behaviour and lack of communication confirmed for us that we would sign up with Karen and take the risk we would walk away with less money. It wasn’t so much because we were offended by the other agents actions or lack of them; it was due to our genuine concern that potential purchasers of our home needed to be reassured and informed that the agent was there to help them get whatever information they needed to put their best offer forward. Karen and Barry have been totally committed to the sale our home, even after one collapsed sale. They saw it through right to the end. All offers were presented in such an efficient and timely manner which I now really understand the importance of. There was endless communication and information. On so many occasions they went above and beyond what I would have ever expected of them. I am more than happy to recommend them as an excellent choice for the sale of your home.
