Don Hunter

Don Hunter has a remarkable and extensive sales and management background.  Originally Don managed a new car franchise in Dunedin from 1963 for 30 years and was the Honda New Zealand dealer chairman.

In 1993, Don and his wife shifted to Christchurch and he became a licensed salesperson in commercial real estate working for the Commercial Division of Harveys - Kent Prier Real Estate.  It was here where Don sold his first freehold going concern motel which fascinated and attracted him to the tourism accommodation market.  Since then, Don has concentrated on being a motel/hotel broker, listing and selling tourism business leases, freehold going concerns and freehold investments.

Don and his wife Alexa also managed a new motel in Christchurch for several years giving them valuable real life experience of what its like being on the other side of the reception desk.

Don later returned to Otago and continued to work as a motel broker in the wider Otago and Southland area for the next 28 years.

In 2023 after the passing of Alexa, Don returned to Christchurch to be closer to family and where he continues to pursue his love of the Hotel, Motel, Tourism and Leisure industry throughout the South Island.
