Buyers were out in force at Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere and Mangere Bridge’s auction event The Day 4,0, where owner occupiers, investors, and developers were all in one room bidding it out for property.

The Day 4.0 saw 36 properties go under the hammer, with a 64 per cent clearance rate, equating to a total of $18.8 million in sales.

Ray White New Zealand lead auctioneer Sam Steele (pictured above) called the auctions, alongside Ray White New Zealand auctioneer Ben East, with the pair taking a total of 1023 bids throughout The Day 4.0.

“It felt like we were back in the market of 2021,” Mr Steele said.

“The Day 4.0 was flying at full speed.”

Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere and Mangere Bridge director Tom Rawson said the results from The Day 4.0 were “insane”.

“The energy in the room was noticeable with both buyers and sellers turning up, willing and ready to transact with each other,” Mr Rawson said.

Sales manager Richie Lewis said there was a really competitive energy from buyers.

“It was awesome seeing first home buyers, second home buyers, investors, and developer clients competing,” he said.

The top result of the day went to Ray White Manukau agents Charlie Brothers and Rojan Bhattarai who sold 31 Grange Road, Papatoetoe under the hammer for $1.282 million. The property recorded 14 registered bidders.

The auction which recorded the highest number of registered bidders was Ray White Manurewa agent Tom McCartney’s $1 reserve auction at 5 Corsair Crescent, Mangere East which saw 21 registered bidders. The property sold under the hammer for $1.255 million.

Another standout auction was the 79 Princes Street, Otahuhu which attracted fierce competition, receiving a total of 175 bids. The property eventually sold under the hammer for $1.25 million. With 13 registered bidders, the auction provided a great result for the vendor and Ray White Mangere listing agents Pat Lapalapa and Ben Palavi.

Ray White Manukau, Manurewa, Mangere and Mangere Bridge director Adam Thomson said the team did a fantastic job throughout the campaigns.

“There was a lot of uncertainty leading up to the event, with a flood of listings at an all time high, giving buyers more options and resulting in less bidders and inspections per property.

“The intensive marketing campaigns we ran, alongside genuine motivation from vendors to sell, proved that regardless of market conditions the best way to get a premium price in the shortest time is via auction.”
