House, mooring and magic - just 100m to the beach!

It's all here for you in this special south-eastern corner of Waiheke. First, there's the 1012m2 flat section, just two minutes from tranquil Otakawhe Bay, the easternmost beach of the magnificent Te Matuku marine reserve. Then there's the house ready and waiting with two sunny decks, one of which is undercover and perfect for dining out all year round.

Upstairs you'll find the main living, kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom, all with views of the surrounding bush. There's a log fire to keep you cosy on the odd chilly night and an outdoor shower to sluice you off when you get back from the beach. There's also easy off-street parking on a great flat section. The house has a new roof and ceiling insulation as well as new guttering. There's also plenty of water, courtesy of the new 25,000 litre water tank and a second smaller one. And your hot water is heated by gas. But it's being in this very special part of Waiheke that's really magic. You can hear the Kereru/New Zealand pigeon, Grey warbler, Fantail, Tauhou/Silvereye, Kotare/Kingfisher, Ruru/Morepork and Tui that live in the bush of Te Matuku reserve. You can discover sponges, anemones and soft corals in its waters.

Yet you're not stuck in the middle of nowhere. With your very own mooring in the bay, you can get here in your boat in about 20 minutes from Maraetai (our vendors have even made the trip in 12 minutes on a calm day, they tell us). Orapiu Wharf is only four minutes drive from the house and just happens to be one of the best fishing wharves in the Hauraki Gulf.
Once you're here, you're close to the Passage Rock, Man O'War and Poderi Crisci vineyards. Or if you fancy a G&T, it's just a 10 minute drive to the Waiheke Distilling Co. Even the neighbours round about are brilliant - every New Year's day the community puts on beach games for the kids (and the big kids), alternating between Arran Bay and Orapiu.
