Open homes are back after covid temporarily put a halt to the in-person inspections, and Ray White Eden Terrace agent Kane Taylor is making sure they’re back with a bang.

At an open home for 48 Bright Street, Eden Terrace, on Saturday, Mr Taylor made sure it was one to remember with a live saxophone player and nibbles creating the perfect atmosphere.

“They loved it, they loved that we were doing something different,” Mr Taylor said.

“Some of the buyers said it was a great idea to make sure they remember the home they’re looking at.

“The home itself was really well renovated and had a really nice outdoor entertainment area, so we thought why not express it like you were having people around to entertain.”

In February, Ray White’s live listings were up 9.25 per cent on last year, and Mr Taylor said with more houses on the market across New Zealand, you needed to do something to make your listing stand out.

He saw more than 12 groups through the home on Saturday.

“At the moment, when there’s so much to look at on the market, if you’re not doing anything different and working with the buyers you’ll just get lost,” he said.

“It’s been busy in terms of listings, you have to stand out somehow. Listings have seen a huge increase since last year.”

There will be two more open homes at 48 Bright Street on March 19-20 from 2:15 pm – 3 pm before the property goes to auction on April 2 at 2pm.
