Ray White Group has recorded an unprecedented year of property sales across Australia and New Zealand, with a whopping $128 billion worth of property changing hands in 2024.
The year, dominated by some big deals, showcases the Australasian group’s strength in residential, marine, rural and commercial real estate markets.
The $128 billion in sales reflects not just market leadership, but the group’s commitment to exceptional service and understanding the unique stories behind every property.
Prestige specialist Ashley Bierman, director at the powerhouse Ray White Double Bay, recorded the two highest residential sales in Australia for the leading group, sealing his place in the top echelon of luxury real estate agents in Australia.
Mr Bierman capped off an incredible year where he sold more than $367 million of high end property in the affluent eastern suburbs of Sydney.
“This year was definitely my busiest year ever,” he said.
The top sale was recorded when Ashley Bierman sold the Spanish Mission mansion at 27 Victoria Rd, Bellevue Hill (pictured above) for $80 million in August, cementing its place without a doubt as one of the finest homes in the country.
“The $80 million off market sale of Alcooringa at 27 Victoria Road in Bellevue Hill represents more than a transaction – it’s a masterpiece of Sydney’s premium property market,” Mr Bierman said.
“This 1300 sqm estate offers unparalleled views and represents the pinnacle of architectural restoration and design. It sits perched on its most elevated northern point and offers stunning views that sweep across from the city and the icons across the harbour to Manly and out across Bondi and the ocean. The house is 1300 sqm under roof and has been restored and upgraded.”
Mr Bierman followed up with a second property on the same gold paved road when he and Ray White Double Bay principal Elliott Placks sold 96 Victoria Road in November for $42 million.
“This exquisite six bedroom home exemplifies the trophy properties we’re privileged to bring to market, featuring a graceful sandstone staircase and opulent marble reception foyer,” Mr Bierman said.
TRG founder Gavin Rubinstein and Chrissie Ren sold the Penthouse 115 Bathurst St, Sydney for $27 million. The penthouse in Sydney’s tallest apartment building settled in November.
The King Penthouse is an opulent sky compound, some 83 floors up, with a huge 674 sqm of space across the top two floors of the Greenland Centre, with 360-degree views of Sydney’s skyline.
The penthouse has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, six car spaces plus $1 million worth of art and $1 million worth of designer furniture plus a fully stocked 350-bottle Penfolds Grange wine cellar.
“This finished product is the absolute best that money can buy. And it has the best spa view in all of Sydney,” Mr Rubinstein said. “It’s the highest penthouse in a residential building with a front-row seat over Sydney.”
Peter Vines and Victor Sheu from RWC Western Sydney secured $80 million for the development site at 14 Schofields Road, Schofields. The property was sold in November 2023 and settled in 2024.
“Our $80 million sale of a 1381-unit development site in Schofields represents more than a property transaction – it’s a critical contribution to addressing Sydney’s housing needs,” Mr Vines said.
The property was a large DA approved residential development site in Western Sydney.
The site was approved for 1381 units across 17 buildings, and is located moments from Schofield’s station and shopping amenities as well as Rouse Hill Town Centre.
Ray White Special Projects team Mark Creevey, Tony Williams and Mathew Fritzsche sold 944-1024 Ripley Road, South Ripley for circa $68 million this year.
After landing on the market for the first time in 50 years, the property was sold in 2022 and settled in May 2024. The 77.1554ha property is a large-scale residential development site located in the heart of the Ripley Valley PDA, one of the largest urban growth areas in Australia, just 35km from Brisbane CBD.
RWC Burleigh Group sales duo Ryan Langham and Nathan Huxham this year settled the caravan park and resort at 1-3 Tweed Coast Road, Hastings Point for more than $50 million. The property was sold in December 2023, and settled in 2024.
The North Star Holiday Resort in Hastings Point was sold, breaking the sales record for the holiday park industry. While the agents cannot reveal the exact sale price, the property was sold to Tasman Holiday Parks and broke the record previously achieved by the Cairns Coconut Resort in 2017, which sold for $50 million.
In the rural sector, Bruce Douglas of Ray White Rural Queensland sealed the sale of “Paradise Downs” at 2085 Blackall Jericho Road, Blackall for $39 million.
“This 17,949-hectare property, offered for the first time in 30 years, represents the best of Queensland’s agricultural landscape,” Mr Douglas said.
“Sold for $39 million, it showcases the robust demand for premium rural properties.”
Elsewhere, Ray White Rural Glen Innes principal Geoff Hayes sold “Clarevaulx Station” 740 Strathbogie Road, Glen Innes for $32.775 million. This premium New England cropping and grazing property, with a 1860 homestead, is made up of 1000ha premium farmland.
Richard Thode from Ray White Epsom in Auckland took out the top Ray White sale in New Zealand in 2024.
“Our top sale of $11.915 million for a heritage villa in Remuera demonstrates the continued strength of premium property markets in New Zealand,” Mr Thode said.
“These properties aren’t just homes – they’re pieces of living history.”
Ray White Marine achieved significant international success, with Rick Rodwell sealing a notable sale.
“The largest yacht to be sold into Adelaide this year is this new Ferretti 1000 Skydeck. The client attended the Monaco Grand Prix with Ray White Marine and decided to upgrade his new Ferretti 920. The 920 was sold to a Turkish client, and this new 1000 is currently cruising around The Mediterranean,” Mr Rodwell said.
Ray White Marine’s Brock Rodwell helped export this 2014 Sunseeker 115 Sports Yacht ‘Three Rivers’ from Asia-Pacific to Italy for its Brisbane based seller. It sold for $9.5 million. ”We then marketed the vessel in the Tuscan region over the European summer and ended up selling the vessel to a Greek client where the vessel will be available to charter in the Aegean Sea from April/May next year.”
