Wellington auctions see great results at Ray White

It was a great day of auctions for Ray White in Wellington, recording a 55.5 per cent clearance rate at their in-room event. 

Nine properties went up for auction, with five selling under the hammer, totalling $4.853 million in property. 

Ray White New Zealand auctioneer Ben East called the auctions, stating there was a “jam packed auction room”.

“Today marked a strong performance in the auction room, with five out of nine properties successfully sold under the hammer in front of a packed crowd,” Mr East said. 

“Although auctions are in their infancy in the Wellington market, today’s event defied expectations, drawing an impressive average of 4.4 unconditional bidders per property—a testament to the strength and interest in the current market.” 

Ray White Wellington City agent Ben Stevens saw three properties sell under the hammer. Ray White New Zealand’s top auction agent saw the top price of the day, with 3 Khandallah Road, Ngaio, Wellington City, selling under the hammer for $1.34 million, with four registered bidders and four active bidders. 

Mr Stevens also saw 40 Rothsay Road, Ngaio, Wellington City, sell under the hammer for $1.255 million with four registered bidders and three active bidders, as well as 24 Herald Street, Berhampore, Wellington City, which sold under the hammer for $920,000. 

Ray White Hutt City agents Jiggy and Jit Govind had the property with the highest number of registered bidders, with the auction for 48 York Street, Moera recording  a whopping 11 registered bidders and nine active bidders. The property sold under the hammer for $538,000. 

Ray White Wellington City agents Lance Williams and Sonja Jivan sold 41a Tannadyce Street, Strathmore, Wellington City, under the hammer for $840,000
