Ray White will be the principal partner of Canterbury Rugby for another three years, launching the new NPC and FPC seasons with the Ray White logo proudly displayed on the front of the men’s jersey’s and the back of the women’s jerseys.
Ray White Canterbury zone chair Claire Morris said even if you’re not a fan of the game, the importance of the Canterbury Rugby and Ray White bond could be felt throughout the community, with almost everyone having a connection to either or both brands.
“Our partnership with Canterbury Rugby is unique and stretches far wider than a logo on jerseys,” Ms Morris said.
“Having our offices work so closely and productively for the good of the community and brand can be unique in an often competitive industry.
“The fact our Canterbury zone sees what is best for our region and collaborates on many activities, especially this major partnership, has always been a great success to our brand, and most importantly to our community and clients.”
The remaining jersey space was allocated to each of the Pathways Partners’ logos. The jersey numbers each partner receives for the season are drawn at the launch in an interactive and fun display.
With a few remaining jersey spaces this year, Ray White Morris & Co’s Ben McNab auctioned off the chance to grab a second jersey, with funds donated to the Canterbury Community Rugby Foundation, helping make community rugby accessible to everyone.
This was the first time this initiative was tried, with reserved expectations and a goal to raise close to $4,000 in total. Mr McNab engaged the partners in a thrilling live auction, raising over $10,000. Dominion Trading Co and Concrete Brothers battled it out for jersey number 4, raising $6,500 for that jersey space alone.
Dominion Trading Co, the ultimate winner, had its heart set on this historical space. Vance Stewart, Director of Dominion Trading, is a CRFU life member and wore the number 4 jersey during his playing days with Canterbury Rugby..
“The auction event, initially a concept we were unsure would succeed, was met with outstanding reception,” said Glen Thawley, Head of Partnerships at Canterbury Rugby.
“The results far exceeded our expectations, raising much-needed funds to provide countless community members the opportunity to play rugby.
“Ben McNab was the perfect mix of entertainment and professionalism, creating the ideal atmosphere for competitive bidding.”
Mr McNab said it was a privilege to host the Canterbury Rugby jersey auction.
“This event not only raised vital funds but also showcased the incredible support from our community and sponsors,” he said.
“Together, we’re building a stronger future for rugby in Canterbury, through our Ray White principal partnership and through initiatives at community level like these.
“We can’t wait to see our sponsors’ names proudly displayed on the field!”
