Ray White NZ has had a hugely successful first online auction during the lockdown, with 16 registered bidders.

The property, located at 1/28 Byron Avenue, Takapuna, sold for $1.503 million — $453,000 above CV — a great result for the sellers and Ray White Takapuna agents Matt Corin and Maggie Gao.

Mr. Corin said it was fantastic to have such a successful online auction during the lockdown.

“It feels really good to have been able to achieve an unconditional sale for the sellers after yesterday’s announcement created some uncertainty,” he said.

“It was pretty stressful up until the auction, but we were really stoked with how it unfolded.

“We had 61 bids in total, with a staggering 37 bids after the property was declared on the market.

“The competition for the property underlines the deep buyer pool that is actively searching for a new home, which hasn’t let up, despite alert level changes.”

There were seven active bidders competing for the single-story home, with the winning bid going to a young couple.

Mr. Corin said property in the Takapuna area had been in high demand, with another house on the same street also selling very well recently.
