Auctions in Auckland showed no sign of letting up last night after agents from powerhouse offices Ray White Ponsonby and Ray White Remuera hammered home a multitude of multi-million-dollar outcomes for their sellers across the city.
Innovative internal data showed it had been a strong start to the year under the hammer for both offices as they combined for an average auction day clearance rate of 83.2 per cent.
The highlight of the night came in Mount Eden as Ray White Ponsonby Salespeople Mike Robson and Justine Koning sold 30 Woodford Road (above) for $4.37 million.
“The home was a classic double bay character villa that attracted buyers to its street appeal. With a pre-auction offer bringing the auction forward a week earlier, we had 11 registered buyers, and four active bidders once announced,” Mr Robson said.
“With the market still positive, but with the feel of some easing, this was a very strong auction among buyers who have been waiting for a while for a quality home like this to be available.”
Another stand-out came in Meadowbank as the Ray White Remuera team of Matt Gibson and Lauren Andreoli successfully managed the $2.975 million sale of 50 Fancourt Street (above).
“This campaign again showed that Meadowbank continues to be a highly sought-after suburb and the majority of the open home attendees were already residents of Meadowbank who were looking to upgrade within the suburb,” Mr Gibson said.
“The amazing uninterrupted views and land size were particularly desirable with this gorgeous property.”
Ray White New Zealand COO and Auctioneer Daniel Coulson said the number of registered buyers was a key metric in highlighting the demand that was still in the market.
“The sale of 30 Woodford Road was a particularly strong result for Mount Eden, and the fact there were 11 registered buyers with the property brought forward a week, just goes to show the competition in the market for excellent homes in and around Auckland.”
