Buyers were very much at the races as Ray White offices across Christchurch saw the sort of competition you would expect to see at Race Week for the New Zealand Cup with a whopping 10 properties selling under the hammer for a combined value of $7,057,000.
“It was a short week but a big week in Christchurch with Canterbury Racing Events. The New Zealand Trotting Cup and New Zealand Cup really were in full swing,” said Ray White New Zealand South Island Regional Manager Jane Meyer.
“Despite that, buyers were anything but deterred from fronting up, with auctions being called forward because of the sheer interest Christchurch properties are generating at the moment.
“We have multiple auctions scheduled to still be called for the rest of November which, in fact, will see us hit a personal best for the Ray White Group in the Garden City of the Plains.”
The stand-out sale of the week came courtesy of Ray White Metro Salesperson Gina Guthrie as she successfully managed the $2,00,000 sale of 5/602 Shands Road(above) in Prebbleton.
“It’s a beautiful lifestyle property that was sold by the original owners who had built it for themselves many years ago – it was only on the market for two weeks,” Ms Guthrie said.
“The extended three-generation family really supported the buyers’ decision to purchase and often attended the open homes with the buyer – it was wonderful to see such a lovely property going to a tight-knit family.
“Auctions being brought forward are becoming more and more regular as the property market goes from strength to strength – the auction rooms are packed and bidding is competitive.”
